I haven't yet, but a couple of people have told me about a gal who writes some amazing stuff. I signed up for the site and had problems registering (I'm not very computer literate, despite what you may think), so I haven't read it yet.

Does anyone read it, and if so, can you suggest some sites?

My hesitation is that I don't want to lose the purity of the saga; I don't want to corrupt my mind with false images of who Stephenie Meyer's characters are.

Ooooooh you know I can. I'm actually taking a break from reading it right now! Ok, ok let me see....

I, personally, don't enjoy reading the 'OOC'(out of character) or 'AU'(alternate universe) stuff. Like you, I like to preserve the Saga and the characters. What I do love to read is the 'What Ifs' or 'Extensions of stories' and throw in a few 'lemons'(sex stuff) and I'm a happy Twigal!

As of now, these are my FAVS:

****Abbracciare il Cantante ****(in progress)-the angst in this one is killing me! I love it. I love it!
Eternal Dawn (completed)
Everchanging Destiny (in progress)-this one made me choke out gasps and almost cry!
Shrinking The Violets (in slow slow progress)-this one is taking too long. i'm not a patient person.

Bella, in these 4, is slighty OOC. But, for the good. She's a little less needy. She has a stonger personality. But nothing too drastic. I promise. I got like, 10 more saved in my favorites, that I'm working thru. Enjoy!

I think I keep forgetting to log out. Oh well.

Anyways, you should read Abbracciare il Cantante!!!! http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4869575/1/

It's super super super good! The plot: What if Edward never came back to Forks after that 1st encounter with Bella in Biology class! Their paths cross a few years later at college. What happens now? Will he run again? Story is told from Edward's POV. It's realy good! Go read it.

Hey Tasha ... I just finished Eternal Dawn, and wanted to say "thanks!" I knew it wasn't going to be a New York Times Bestseller, but was better than I expected. Several parts had me laughing out loud, while others had me biting my lip! Yummy!
Thanks for sharing... I plan on reading the others.

AAAHHH! Me and my morbid curiosity got sucked into the OOC realm of Twilight fanfiction. I thought I'd never see the day where I would actually enjoy it too!

I'm forever changed. sunny

What happened? I got tired of hearing about this fanfic called Wide Awake and how great it was and blah..freakin blah. So, I had to know. I'm usually not up for change, but as stated before...morbid curiosity and all. Well, I did it. I freakin read it, at warp speed no less. It didn't taint the sanctity of Twilight or the characters, although the story is VERY OOC and AU. I didn't really associate the 2 sets of characters. The fanfic characters just happened to have the same names and live in Forks and drive Volvos and all that crap. It was bliss. And Wide Awake Edward is...just...well...I just love him! His filthy mouth, his leather jacket, his love of Bella's cookies, collar bones & shiny curls...I'm gonna stop now. Cool

Moral of all this: don't be scared...just read it! Not all the OOC stuff is bad or weird or waaaaay too dark & scary. Especially Wide Awake. It's too awesome for tons of descriptive words. Read it. study

Tasha, I think this is gonna be interesting! I'm gonna read some of it, but I still only consider Stephenie Meyer's writing the authentic real thing. But anything that's possibly a little more racy; WooHoo! It's worth a look see. Very Happy

Grrrr.... I still can't do it. Not yet. I may try again soon, though.

Isn't Wide Awake the one posted by that AngstGoddess chick? It's supposed to be amazing...

Tasha - OMG! I'm almost done reading Wide Awake. You weren't kidding!
When I first started reading, I thought humm... what did I get myself into. Then after reading another chapter or two, I was hooked!

But did you read it from FanFic or from http://angstgoddess003.livejournal.com/ ? I noticed the FanFic site doesn't have all the chapters, and I wasn't sure if you caught the full version.

Like Tasha said, you "just gotta read it!"
I highly recommend it!

I gotta thank you guys for reccomending Wide Awake.

I've read a couple of the Fan Fics (mostly the M-rated missing honeymoon details, 'cos that fade-to-black was soooo frustrating!) But I have always erred away from AU Fics. But Wide Awake is fantastic. I lost 3 days (over 2 weekends) just holed up reading it...

I would highly, highly reccomend it, and it hasn't changed the way I feel about the Twilight series, I think, because it is so AU that it is not the same characters, they just happen to have the same names.

Even though I have broken my AU cherry, and as much as I loved Wide Awake, I'm still not sure if I want to read any other AUs.
