Okay, everyone has an opinion on this one. I will tell you mine. I saw the movie first and I am glad I did, because I think I would have been disappointed had I read the book first. I saw the movie again right after reading Twilight and could fill in some of the gaps, but I was so bummed that the meadow scene wasn't even close to the book! I just feel like the books are so great, I just get totally lost in them! I love the movie, but it's just a bonus, great eye candy, because for the movie to do the book justice it would have to be a few extra hours longer!

I was really glad I'd read the books first for one reason: Jacob.

As soon as he walked up to Bella in the beginning of the movie, he took my breath away. He looked EXACTLY how I pictured him, and even though he's such a puppy in Twilight, I already felt like I knew him. I felt the same about the Cullen family as well, but that small cameo of Jacob's really solidified my relief in having read the books first.

I went movie first, and am glad I did. I love how seeing the actors and actresses helped me vizualize the book characters 'in motion' so to speak. It also alleviated any WTF moments in case the vision that I would have come up with of a character did not match the actor.

I read the book first, but I finished it literally hours before I saw the movie. I think this was good, since I had the image of the actors in my head (and Rob's super fine ass as Edward!) so the book was that much better to me because of it. But I'm glad I read the book first, because I knew what was coming in the movie. Like when Jacob walked up for the first time and everyone gasped, I knew what was up. And when Edward first walked in and the entire theater squeed, it so fun for me.

Whitley- Talk about a BUZZZ!!! Finishing the book and going right to the movies is the best! (Not that I would know, even though I've seen the movie *cough* 30sumthin times...) One of the best times I saw the movie was reading Midnight Sun, then going straight to the movie. You could REALLY see Edward's dark side, especially knowing Rob used Midnight Sun as his motivation... swoon...

I had never really considered that! Looks like I just have to watch it for the uptenth time so I can pick up on all that.

And yeah, it was a major buzz. Like, I couldn't shut up about Twilight for weeks. Literally.
